GT3 upgrade leading to increased success for Brad Schumacher

Brad Schumacher has stepped up to the Pro-Am this season following a successful campaign in 2023 culminating in the Am title, but it’s been a seamless shift thanks to co-driver Will Brown.

Schumacher has made a significant shift for 2024 - not only moving to Pro-Am, but also shifting to the reigning title winning Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia squad having entered with his Schumacher Motorsport concern since his debut in 2021.

The addition of Brown has aided in smoothly negotiating all these changes.

Schumacher and Brown sit second in the standings, becoming the first pairing to achieve a second victory this season.

Putting the success down to the duo sharing similar personalities, Schumacher was eager to cap the year off with the title.

“The thing about motorsport, and some people may not understand it, is that it's definitely a team sport, particularly when you’re co-driving with somebody,” said Schumacher.

“What’s so good about Will and I driving together is we’re actually becoming good mates, and we get along really well.

“We’ve got similar thoughts and we’re both eager to succeed.”

It’s not only Brown gelling well with Schumacher, but the entire team, which enters five or more Audis depending on the round.

“We’re also in a team environment at Melbourne Performance Centre where everyone is getting along and all of these things together build success,” Schumacher emphasised.

The two have built a solid rapport and it’s further advancing Schumacher’s driving.

“It’s good to see Will doing so well, he’s easy going nature as a person, but his drive and passion to succeed are the reasons why he’s performing so well,” Schumacher added.

“Myself spending time at the race track with a guy like Will is only building my confidence as an Am driver.”

The next round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS will re-join the Shannons SpeedSeries at Sydney Motorsport Park on October 18-20.
