The schedule is set for the next Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS round at Sydney Motorsport Park where the teams move into endurance mode.
In an exciting first in Fanatec GT Australia competition, some of the world’s most prestigious and exotic brands will race under lights in a three-hour endurance event on the Saturday night.
It promises to be an exciting event to witness as the category returns to Sydney Motorsport Park for the first time since July last year.
In two one-hour events, current World Endurance Championship driver Yasser Shahin and Garnet Patterson won in the EMA Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3-R (991.2).
This year’s Fanatec GT Australia series leader Liam Talbot took victory in the second event partnered by Fraser Ross driving the Shannons Team MPC Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2.
Talbot will be a contender alongside Chaz Mostert in the first visit to the premier Sydney circuit for Arise Racing GT and its pair of Ferrari 296 GT3s.
Rivals from Audi, Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin will provide stiff competition.
Action begins with private testing for competitors on Thursday.
Friday, October 18 will hold two one-hour practice sessions at 12:05pm and 4:55pm (all times AEST).
Qualifying kicks off Saturday’s action at 10:40am split into two 10-minute sessions before SPSO at 11:45am and the three-hour race begins at 6:45pm to close out the weekend for Fanatec GT Australia.
Held as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries round at Sydney Motorsport Park, the next round of Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS will be held on October 18-20.
