Harrolds Racing with Volante Rosso will return with a two-car team in this weekend's Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS event at The Bend Motorsport Park.
The Mercedes-AMG team will compete with an unchanged squad this weekend as Ross Poulakis takes solo control of the team's Mercedes AMG GT3, while Chris Batzios and Sam Brabham share the Mercedes AMG GT4 entry.
It's just the third round for the Harrolds Racing team pairing with Volante Rosso, and their first at The Bend's 4.9km International layout, however, strong results at Sandown last time out have the team buoyed for another strong weekend.
The team enjoyed a double victory in the opening race at the iconic Victorian venue, claiming both the GT3 Am class and GT4 following tight battles in each class.
In Sunday's dramatic wet-weather conclusion, Poulakis finished fourth in the Am class while Batzios and Brabham were second in GT4.
The latter pair have challenged fellow GT4 competitors to join the series, as the 'race within a race' in global GT competition attempts to draw traction in Australia.
"It would be great to see more cars and entries participate. Its certainly the more gentleman racer category - it's not as fast or expensive as our GT3 siblings - and a great bit of safe and fun kit," Batzios explained.
"Considering how many GT4 race cars are in Australia doing track day events and drive days, we could easily field a grid of 10 to 15 cars - wouldn't that be something!
"If you have a look at some of the DTM Trophy Series races in Germany where they run GT4 category cars, the racing is so exciting and close! So all I would say to those owners is, come along and participate, get involved and race, you wont regret it."
Batzios, who made his national circuit racing debut at Sandown, said he was excited to be part of the growing Harrolds Racing venture.
"We are really excited to have two cars on the grid. Ross and I who fathered the Harrolds Racing idea and of branching into the aspirational GT category of motorsport always said that if we were going to do it, we would do it properly and field a GT3 and GT4 car," he said.
"We had plenty of support and advice along the way which helped massively. The Covid pandemic delayed our plans a little, but fast forward a couple of years and here we are now with two cars on the grid, so we are very excited about it all. Hopefully this is the start of something for us and I know Ross and I are certainly enjoying ourselves being a part of it.
"We certainly believe in the category and in terms of what it can bring to our wider business so looking forward to getting in amongst it."
