Prince Jefri Ibrahim and Broc Feeney have completed the opening day at the top of the timesheets, leading a Triple Eight Race Engineering Mercedes-AMG GT3 1-2 as the rain arrived late in the session.

Ibrahim and Feeney finished the session with a 1m 58.960s from Jamie Whincup, who will share with Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim, while rounding out the top three was Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Series leader Yasser Shahin in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II he will share with Garth Tander.

Title contender Liam Talbot was fourth in the Shannons Insurance Audi he’ll drive alongside Fraser Ross as behind Ross Poulakis was the leader in Am Class in fifth outright driving the Harrolds Racing Volante Rosso Mercedes-AMG.

RAM Motorsport duo Michael Sheargold and Garth Walden were right behind their Am Class rival in sixth making it a Mercedes 1-2 across the two outright divisions.

Adrian Deitz and Tony D’Alberto were next in the Wall Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 from the lead KFC Audi of Matt Stoupas, the GT Trophy leading Valmont Racing Mercedes of Marcel Zalloua and Sergio Pires.

Class rival Michael Kokkinos was in touch driving the Launch Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Ultra from Gary Higgon in the second KFC Audi he will share with Paul Stokell.

Rounding out the field were the two GT4 contenders as Nash Morris drove Mark Griffith’s Mercedes, to edge the Harrolds Racing Volante Rosso example of Christos Batzios and Sam Brabham by 0.236s.

The next session for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS competitors is qualifying tomorrow where another Harrolds Pole Award is up for grabs for Pro-Am and Am Class entries.

Qualifying occurs at 9:15am local time (9:45am AEDT) tomorrow ahead Race 1 at 2:55pm (3:25pm AEDT), which can be streamed on 7Plus.
