An all-Australian entry for the 2025 Dubai 24 Hour featuring drivers from Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS has been announced.
Am Class winning team GWR Motorsport (preparer of the RAM Motorsport entry) will prepare and support the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to be driven by a team of five.
RAM Motorsport duo Garth Walden and Mike Sheargold will lead the attack after achieving success at Bathurst by sealing the Am Class crown.
Joining the pair will be M Motorsport’s Justin McMillan and Glen Wood, who have competed in select Fanatec GT Australia events in the last few seasons.
Previous competitor for RAM Motorsport and his crowd favourite Nissan NISMO GT-R GT3, Brett Hobson completes the driver line-up.
A caontainer featuring the Mercedes-AMG the team will compete with and a spare parts package has already left Australian shores scheduled to arrive prior to the event, which gets underway at the Dubai Autodrome with testing on January 11.
Following this event, McMillan, Sheargold and Hobson will compete in the Abu Dhabi 6 Hour a week later at the Yas Marina Circuit.
The SRO Motorsport season in Australia begins when the Intercontinental GT Challenge makes its traditional trip to Mount Panorama for the Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour on January 31-February 2 and the GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS test day at Phillip Island on March 25.
