How the titles can be decided - Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS edition

Five teams are in mathematical contention to win the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS Pro-Am title and two in Am.

Arise Racing GT is in the box seat to seal a dream debut Fanatec GT Australia season thanks to Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot.

The duo lead the way heading to Mount Panorama as the Ferrari 296 GT3 makes its debut at the legendary circuit, although the Prancing Horse has enjoyed great success at the prestigious venue.

Holding a 30-point advantage, the duo just need to finish ahead of all its rivals to take the title on Saturday, but can finish as low as ninth to take seal the crown.

Local driver Brad Schumacher will need to win both races and hope the Ferrari finishes ninth or worse on Sunday for he and Will Brown to take the crown.

Schumacher is aiming to be the first driver to win the three classes represented in Fanatec GT Australia - Trophy, Am and Pro-Am.

The second Arise Racing GT Ferrari is also in contention with Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte behind the wheel.

Lying just four-points behind Brown and Schumacher, the second Arise Racing GT’s weekend must follow the exact same narrative as the Audi. However, if Evans and Schutte win, their teammates must be third or worse to take it into Sunday.

Triple Eight Race Engineering is a further five-points behind the second Ferrari, so if Declan Fraser and Peter Hackett take victory on Saturday the Mostert/Talbot 296 GT3 must finish fifth or worse.

New Zealanders Brendon Leitch and Tim Miles in the Dayle ITM Team MPC Audi have been a strong partnership this season, but need a lot to go right to win the title.

Effectively, the duo need to clean-sweep the weekend and hope the Ferrari endures a tough final round being 45-points behind, with 52 offered across the event.

RAM Motorsport have led the way all year, but Michael Sheargold and Garth Walden just need to finish ahead of rivals James and Theo Koundouris in the Supabarn Supermarkets/Tigani Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

The Koundouris brothers are a victory behind and will rely on some misfortune to steal the title.
