The schedule has been confirmed for the inaugural SRO Motorsport Australia GT Festival at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on August 23-25.
With free entry for spectators across all three days, the highly anticipated event will feature action from Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Monochrome GT4 Australia and the Meguiar’s Australian Production Cars.
Gates open at 8:00am each day, with Friday featuring extended test and practice sessions for both Fanatec GT Australia and Monochrome GT4 Australia.
Both GT3 and GT4 will qualify and race on Saturday, followed by another open-long race on Sunday.
The on-track action will be complemented by an off-track Supercars display that will allow spectators to look at some of the world’s most exotic models.
In what is the penultimate round of Fanatec GT Australia's 'Sprint' title fight, there's just five points that separates the top three and only 20 points covering the top five.
Ferrari stars Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot narrowly sit atop the outright Pro-Am class standings, one point ahead of the Audi of Will Brown and Brad Schumacher.
New Zealand pairing Brendan Leitch and Tim Miles are third, while the second Ferrari of Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte, and the Triple Eight Mercedes of Declan Fraser and Peter Hackett are all still in the running for the crown.
In the Am class, Mike Sheargold and Garth Walden hold a narrow 11-point lead over Canberra brothers James and Theo Koundouris, and with some returning faces to the ranks coming back for Phillip Island, picking a winner will be a tough task.
For Monochrome GT4, all three classes are evenly poised with the two rounds remaining, making Phillip Island a vital round for the series.
The inaugural SRO Motorsport Australia GT Festival will be at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on August 23-25.
