Two stars from the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS will this weekend race in Fuji as part of a stacked 49 entries.
Tigani Motorsport’s Jayden Ojeda and Jaxon Evans from Arise Racing GT will join the second round of Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS’s Japan Cup at the legendary facility at the foothills of Mount Fuji.
Ojeda holds a firm association with Mercedes-AMG and will line-up alongside Jeffrey Lee at Craft Bamboo Racing. The New South Welshman re-joins the team after forming part of its driver line-up at the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour earlier this year.
Evans will also return to the team he contested the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour and the Buriram round of Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia with in the form of Porsche squad Phantom Global Racing.
The racing doesn’t end there for Evans as he will also contest the centenary Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa the following weekend again with Phantom Global Racing.
"I am really excited to go to Mount Fuji,” Evans said.
“It will be my first time in Japan and my first time at that iconic track, so I am looking forward to a fun weekend and hopefully a successful one as well."
Of course, Triple Eight Engineering also has a presence in Asia as well.
Marques featuring regularly in Australia the likes of Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Audi and Lamborghini will be joined by Porsche, Aston Martin, BMW, McLaren, Nissan, Lexus as well as the rare Chevrolet Corvette GT3-R diversify the field in Japan.
