Following on from the opening episode of Pit Lane Pass where Jola Ramsay discussed the Pirelli tyres used in Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, the safety devices used by drivers are the focus in this edition.
Safety devices for drivers have been a major advancement during the past two decades led by the HANS device, which prevents the head from moving severely during a heavy impact. The Head and Neck Support has been credited in saving many drivers lives, so much so that it is has been made compulsory to wear one in all motorsport applications.
Another version is the Simpson Hybrid used as an alternative where pressure is not felt as much through the neck and collarbone.
