SRO Motorsports Australia is pleased to confirm the creation of a brand-new event – the GT Festival – at Phillip Island in August this year.
The new event, to be held at the famous Island venue on August 23-25, will be the first-ever event promoted by SRO Motorsports Australia.
The GT Festival will form the fourth round of both the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and the Monochrome GT4 Australia Series, finalising the racing calendars for both of the marquee categories.
The race meeting will be a celebration of the finest GT racing that Australia has to offer at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, regarded as one of the best race circuits in the world, as well as a favourite amongst GT competitors.
Adding to the flavour of the new event includes the Australian Production Car Series as a headline support class.
Details for the GT Festival regarding broadcasting, event activations and ticketing will be announced in due course.
The GT Festival will be the second time that categories have raced at The Island venue this year, having opened the ‘sprint’ championship at the circuit last month.
The next round of both the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS and the Monochrome GT4 Australia Series will be held at The Bend in South Australia on May 31-June 2 as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries.
