Triple Eight Race Engineering has revealed its Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS season livery for its Mercedes-AMG GT3 to be shared by Peter Hackett and Declan Fraser.
Hackett returns to the series full-time this season after being winner of the Australian Endurance Championship in 2017 driving a Mercedes-AMG and linked up previously with the factory-aligned squad in 2021 at the Bathurst finale.
Continuing his long-time relationship with Mercedes-Benz is Hackett after serving as its Chief Driving Instructor and host of many launches during the past two decades, while also debuted the marque in local GT racing back in 2011.
Joining the experienced hand of Hackett will be a GT3 debutant in the form of Declan Fraser as he joins following a maiden season in Supercars and adds to an impressive entry list for the opening contest at Phillip Island.
Fraser’s sole Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia entry was in the GT4 Class alongside Mark Griffith at Sandown during the 2022 season.
Featuring support from Romeo, Red Hot Couriers, Dealer Drive, DG Group and Peak.
A test day for the duo is scheduled for today (April 8) ahead of the opening round for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at Phillip Island as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries on April 12-14 being broadcast live on 7mate and 7plus.
