Triple Eight Race Engineering Super2 driver Declan Fraser is a late addition to the Fanatec GT world Challenge Australia Powered by AWS field where he will be competing alongside Mark Griffith in the Daimler Trucks Brisbane Mercedes-AMG GT4 this weekend.
Griffith contested the opening round at Phillip Island solo, but has called on the current Super2 Series leader to co-drive him in what is expected to be an exciting battle in the GT4 Class against international GT driver Sam Brabham.
It will be Fraser’s debut appearance in a GT entry, while Griffith is a stalwart of the category having previously raced in both GT4 and GT3 specifications.
Fraser is an experienced touring car competitor, contesting TCR races in Malaysia, plus the ill-fated TCR race at the Australian Grand Prix in 2020. The Queenslander finished runner up in Super3 in 2019 and is currently leading the Super2 standings after debuting in the class last year.
Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS will contest two 60-minutes this weekend at Sandown as part of the SpeedSeries event also including the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters and the concluding round for the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series.

QUOTES
Declan Fraser
#19 Daimler Trucks Brisbane Mercedes-AMG GT4
“I’m pretty excited, Griffo invited me out last week and I got the late call up, jumped on a plane to come down,” said Fraser.
“Practice 1 will be the first time driving a GT car, so I’m pretty excited.
“Just to keep my bum in a seat as much as possible is what I want to do, so when I got the call from Mark to come and have a run, I was champing at the bit to get in the car.
“Obviously, the main objective is to win every single time you get in the car and we’ll have some fun.”
Mark Griffith
#19 Daimler Trucks Brisbane Mercedes-AMG GT4
“The other GT4 has got young Mr Brabham in it, so I figured he should have someone to battle with,” Griffith explained.
“It should be a great contest in GT4 this weekend.”
