Audi Sport factory stars to race in Perth

Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia will once again call on a couple of European factory aces as it aims to continue its unbeaten start to the season so far.

Following on from double success at the opening Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS round at Mount Panorama, Max Hofer will once again join Liam Talbot in the Shannons Insurance Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2.

Austrian Hofer is race winner in the highly competitive ADAC GT Masters series in Germany achieving a best of fourth outright in 2019 and finished seventh in last year’s GT Open title for Aust Racing.

Talbot and Hofer proved a fast partnership against fiercely competitive field at Bathurst.

Joining Hofer is Australian regular Christopher Mies as he replaces Christer Joens in the JAMEC Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 alongside three-time winner Geoff Emery.

A last minute deal enabled Emery’s return to the grid and it was rewarded with a round podium.

Mies is also a championship winner down under, a dual Bathurst 12 Hour victor and a stalwart of Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia’s GT program.

Hofer and Mies will contest Round 2 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at CARCO.com.au Raceway, Wanneroo on April 28-30.
