Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim and Jamie Whincup were fastest in the session, finishing on a lightly drying track with a 2m 23.994s to pip the team Mercedes-AMG of Prince Jefri Ibrahim sharing with broc Feeney by 0.884s.
The Harrolds Volante Rosso Racing Mercedes-AMG of Ross Poulakis teaming with European ex-pat Jordan Love was third ahead of the Wall Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Adrian Deitz and David Wall.
In his newly upgraded Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, Brad Schumacher partnered by Tim Slade was fifth to lead fellow four-ring contenders Jack Smith on GT debut pairing Tim Miles and Marc Cini in jis Hallmarc example sharing with Michael Caruso.
In Am Class, the RAM Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Michael Sheargold and Garth Walden led the way ahead of brothers James and Theo Koundouris in their Supabarn Supermarkets Audi.
Marcel Zalloua and Sergio Pires in the sole GT Trophy Class entry placed among the Am Class contenders in the Valmont Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, while the Invitational KTM X-Bow makes its second appearance in the series after Sandown as Trent Harrison completed the session alongside David Crampton.
In the close battle for GT4 honours, Chris Batzios and Sam Brabham prevailed in their Harrolds Volante Rosso Racing Mercedes from the similar example of Mark Griffith backed by Daimler Trucks Brisbane.
A second practice session begins at 8:00am AEDT tomorrow morning, while the battle for Harrolds Pole Position takes place at 10:05am AEDT.
