Chevrolet Corvette Z06.R to be made available to customers in 2024

General Motors has revealed its plans to build the new Chevrolet Corvette C8 to FIA GT3 regulations and will be made available to customers in 2024.

This will be the first time Chevrolet has offered a customer-based program for the Corvette in GT3 racing globally as previously Callaway Motorsport was the homologation agent for the original Z06 and Z07 GT3, primarily racing in the ADAC GT Masters Series in Germany.

Built by Pratt & Miller, Chevrolet’s GT3 weapon will based on the recently released Z06 road car, utilising the same 5.5-litre DOHC LT6 V8 engine, plus it will feature learnings from its predecessor, the C8.R GTE in drivetrain and aerodynamics.

“It’s an exciting time for Corvette – first with the reveal of the production Z06 and now confirming the Corvette Z06 GT3.R for customer racers,” said Mark Stielow, Chevrolet Director of Motorsports Competition Engineering.

“The availability of the Z06 GT3.R will allow customer race teams the opportunity to campaign a Corvette that has benefited from Corvette Racing’s rich history.”

Further details including pricing will be released in due course.
